A lovely surprise came with the arrival of my Felt Matters the journal of the International Feltmakers Association.My work was featured on the cover along with the article on my woolly origins!
Next I have finally finished my online tutorial on making a felted Poppy. It will be online for purchase soon.It is the Commemoration year and we are remembering those those killed in World War I so I thought a poppy was a lovely flower to feature in my new series of online lessons.

My New Year is starting with a bang! A good bang.I have had a year and a half sabbatical and so my year is starting off very busily with lots of new enthusiasm.

Last markets we made flowers and baby booties .It was lovely fun.
Feltmaker Wendy Bailye will teach you to use a template to create a basic small “Pod” shaped vessel. You will learn sculptural techniques to make a gorgeous round hollow felt pod. Learn how to make really hard felt that will hold its shape. We will make one small round pod. The pod can be stitched and embroidered at home. A bit of fun on a Saturday afternoon! I will be teaching a little mini workshop Saturday 16 August 2014 at Handmade Samford 1.30pm to 2.30pm. This lovely little handmade market will be held at the Old Catholic Church Hall on Samford Rd(on the left before you get to the roundabout and garage.Come join us for an enjoyable time learning how to make silk and wool felt flowers ! Learn this simple and fun technique enabling you to quickly and easily make your own unique flowers from handmade felt. Use them to adorn clothing, bags, hair, hats, presents and homewares. You will be amazed at what you can create so effortlessly. During the class you will make a beautiful flower with wool and silk. This class suits beginner to advanced felt makers and will turn you into a guaranteed felt-a-holic! I will have a variety of wool colours and silks so you can design your own flower. Cost $25.00 per person includes tuition, instructions and kit to make two flowers. One flower will be made in the class, the other can be made at home. What a lovely four days we had with Moy Mackay from Scotland teaching in the studio.She was very generous with her techniques and everyone went away feeling very chuffed with their work and new skills…Will be posting some images from the class soon (see my facebook page- Wendy Bailye) for a few in the mean time!
