Please note my shopping cart is closed for the month of December. If you require one of my DVD’s please contact www.artwearpublications.com.au
Thank you to all those who attended Sharyn and my “WILD THINGS “‘ Exhibition. It was a fabulous three days and we were very chuffed to see you all there. We love our end of year exhibition and sale and it is only possible with your support. Thank you SO much from us both.We now both have space in our heads and studios to create some more wild things for next year.We have set our date a little earlier for next year . WILD THINGS will be held on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th of November at the Richard Randall Gallery Mt Coot-tha Botanical Gardens. POP THE DATE IN YOUR DIARY NOW! It will be on at the same time as the Orchid Society Show in the Auditorium which will be a nice change from the woodworkers show.Unfortunately we couldn’t have it at our usual time.
It was so lovely to see my work popped on bodies and looking lovely-much nicer than on a cardboard stand or plastic body.My work is art to wear and so it needs to be worn. Will be setting new classes for next year by the end of January-so keep your eye on the website.I have popped a few photos in for you of our exhibition, enjoy!
The end of my working year is fast approaching.I am preparing for my exhibition at the Mt Coot-tha Botanical Gardens in a few days.Hope to see you all there. It is exciting and challenging all at the same time.
Thank you to all of you who have given us feedback on the shopping cart addition to the website-seems it is all in good working order and hopefully you find it easy to use .Please note the cart will be closed for the month of December.
Below are some images of my work for the exhibition. It has been a steep learning curve .In the new year I will have many new products and my felt work available for online purchase which is exciting.Yesterday we took a whole heap of gorgeous photos with my friend Daisy as the model. It was so lovely to see my work on a real live person. So often I see my work in a plastic box or folded in a corner on a bench. The best it gets is on a plastic dummy covered in black! To see it presented beautifully on a body was just wonderful.I sometimes take the beauty of felt for granted and then I remember when it is on someone just what a beautiful thing it is and how fantastic it is to work with such a lovely medium.I felt very blessed yesterday-it was a lovely day.
New shopping cart is up and running! Apologies for the glitches with international postage….all sorted now hopefully -happy shopping…
New book 500 Felt Objects is finally here…it’s fabulous.
After a few hiccups the shopping cart is finally up.Over the next few weeks I will be adding items here and there. The cart will be closed for the month of December so if there is anything you want before Christmas please order now!
I have put a new gallery (Recent work 2011) of work up on site which is photos of work that will be in my Wild Things exhibition with Sharyn Hall which is coming up very soon-so if you want a preview have a peek!

For the past three years local Samford felt maker Wendy Bailye has been working with Mixed Media artist Sharyn Hall combining their skills to further each other’s artistic development. This has been a very rewarding continuing collaboration.
Textiles in all their forms will be exhibited over three days and there will be lots of unique handmade items to buy. It will be a feast for the senses.
Expect plenty of smaller items that will make fantastic Christmas gifts; brooches, bags, large and small art for the wall, handmade embroidered boxes, handmade cards and exquisite machine embroideries. There will be a variety of hand felted and hand dyed wraps and scarves . This year there will be a new range of Wendy’s men’s and women’s felted slippers , baby booties and stylish hot water bottle covers. Sharyn’s hand dyed fabrics , embroideries and mixed media works will be a highlight as usual. It has been a busy year for Wendy ,she has just released nationally and internationally her first instructional DVD called Felting with Fabrics which passes on techniques she has developed for well over 15 years. It is available from her website or from the exhibition. Sharyn also has produced a book on dyeing techniques which is an accumulation of her many years of experience dyeing and manipulating bespoke fabrics-if you enjoy colour and texture this is a must have! Expect a dose of quirkiness, priceless individuality, bold colours and amazing textures and techniques! It is here you will find truly unique Christmas presents all with that little bit of hand crafted eccentricity.
The exhibition is the same weekend as the Wood Turners Exhibition at Mt Coot-tha

Classes for September
Last classes for the year!
Thursday September 1st , Friday 2nd, Sat 3rd, Sun 4th.Please note the 4th is Fathers Day so plan your celebrations for the evening! Saturday class is booked out but plenty of spaces are available in the other classes.
As it is the last class for the year I will be baking a special cake for each day… so only bring savoury finger food to share for lunch.
I will be posting new dates for 2012 early next year. There will be some exciting new classes! Think big thick rugs, garments, matching baby booties and hat , 3d flower slippers, 3d Flower bags…..
With the end of the year looming I have finally got around to producing some nice gift certificates that can be purchased for gifts .They can be spent on either a felt class or materials for felting (don’t forget to tell the family!) – great for Christmas, birthdays etc. And don’t forget that a felt class is a perfect Baby Shower/Hens night activity. In the past we have made some gorgeous collaborative baby blankets and pictures. A nice thick felt rug is another possibility….
SPECIAL GROUP CLASSES
If you get a group of friends together I am happy to hold a special class in my break season anytime from September till March. There is a minimum of 6 people and usual class rates apply. It is fun to get a group of friends together. Just remember it is HOT and we can’t have fans on until everyone’s work is wet down!!Under the house is a nice cool area though compared to most places as the temperature rises!
